6 WEEK THROWING WORKSHOP

Class Duration

Classes run for 2 hours once a week for 6 weeks

Clay Body

• Mixed clay body
• Students will discover and experience a assortment of clay body's

What you will recieve

• Guidance and techniques from a experienced potter and pottery teacher
• Student's will take home (if they wish) with them one pottery wheel for the duration of the first 4 week's to practice what they have learned. 

(Please note a small deposit fee of $100 will be placed down and returned at the end of week 4)

• Over the span of the 6 weeks students will focus on the fine details of technique on the wheel and off the wheel. 
• All tools needed for their creation's
• students will also glaze pots on the 6th week 
• Students will be allowed to customise what they would like to make throughout the weeks
• Below are some functional ideas of what students could make throughout the 6 weeks

1.  Butter Bell/French Butter Churn
2. Marbled incense holder with lid
3. garlic grinders
4. egg yolk separators
5.  large bowls
6.  mugs with handles
7.  jar/urn
8. Large Vase
9. chip & dip bowl

•  Glazing is inclusive of the price also. 

What to bring with you

• patience and enthusiasm :)
• having short nails will help, trimming is recommended
• don't forget those hair-ties

Please note this class is beginner friendly however we only allow previous students who have sat the 'Beginners intro wheel throwing' class to attend. This six week course has a wealth of knowledge for you to absorb and put into practice. This course is aimed to take you from a complete beginner on the wheel to confidently creating refined vessels.  And don't let me forget the most appealing thing of all in this 6 week course. We understand that to become potter all it takes is practice and determination. So to help you on your journey we have worked on a little special something not many other studio's offer.  Students for the first 4 weeks of the course will take home their own 'rentable' pottery wheel. (INCLUSIVE OF PRICING)

Our wheel throwing classes are small and designed to give the students more undivided attention towards learning the mechanics of wheel throwing. Our studio only has 6 students at a time per class and this is no different for our workshops. We will provide hand's on instructions to help guide you through every step along the way to bringing your clay to life. 

Age requirements

• These classes are suitable to ages 16 + and up.
• Please note parent's will have to attend/partake in class for children 16 + and up, so don't forget to book in early.
