• 1 heat gun to chatter bowls on the day

• Finished vessels that you will come back to glaze in 3-4 weeks

What sets this class apart from the others?

This class involves using trimming tools to create a effect known to the pottery world as chattering. Chattering creates a very unique texture over the 

The vessel's created will then be glazed by you on your own day of choosing within 3-4 weeks after your first class. We offer a large range of imported Glaze's for you to select from with this class we highly recommend our Shino range of glazes. 

What is a Shino Glaze

Shino glazes are very playful among pottery that has been chattered or contains texture. Shino glazes can range in colour from milky white to orange, sometimes with charcoal grey spotting, known as "carbon trap" which is the trapping of carbon in the glaze during the firing process. 

Our wheel throwing classes are small and designed to give the students more undivided attention towards learning the mechanics of wheel throwing. Our studio only has 6 students at a time. We will provide hand's on instructions to help guide you through every step along the way to bringing your clay to life. 

Once students have completed the this class, students will be given a ticket and opportunity to further their passion for pottery and par-take in a 6 week intensive wheel throwing course if requested. Please see 6 week course for more information. 

Age requirements

• These classes are suitable to ages 16 + and up.
• Please keep in mind the use of a heat gun can be dangerous, it is mandatory that parents attend with children if you wish to partake in this class

If you wish for your child who might be younger than 14  to attend a wheel throwing class, keep your eye's peeled for our school holiday program where ages 8 and up are able to attend, or check out our kids paint n spin class
