Class runs for 1.30 minutes

What you will receive on the day and when you come back

• 1 x 300 grams of clay
• 1 x 700 grams of clay
• make 1 to 2 vessels only 
• guidance and techniques from a experienced pottery teacher
• finished vessels that you will come back to glaze in 3-4 weeks

What to bring with you

• patience and enthusiasm :)
• having short nails will help, trimming is recommended
• don't forget those hair-ties

This course was designed to allow the new potter to discover and practice the basic mechanics of throwing clay on the wheel. Throughout the lesson, techniques and method's will be shared and discussed and put into practice. 

The vessel's created will then be glazed by you on your own day of choosing within 3-4 weeks after your first class. We offer a large range of imported Glaze's for you to select from. 

Our wheel throwing classes are small and designed to give the students more undivided attention towards learning the mechanics of wheel throwing. Our studio only has 6 students at a time. We will provide hand's on instructions to help guide you through every step along the way to bringing your clay to life. 

Once students have completed the intro class, students will be given a ticket and opportunity to further their passion for pottery and par-take in a 6 week intensive wheel throwing course if requested. Please see 6 week course for more information. 

Age requirements

• These classes are suitable to ages 14 + and up.
• Please note parent's will have to attend/partake in class for children 14 + and up, so don't forget to book in early to reserve your spots.  

If you wish for your child who might be younger than 14  to attend a wheel throwing class, keep your eye's peeled for our school holiday program where ages 8 and up are able to attend.
