What you will recieve on the day

• 2 x 500 grams of clay
• Large selection of underglazes to paint with
• All tools 
• Make 1 to 2 vessels only 
• Guidance and techniques from a experienced potter and pottery teacher
• Finished vessels that will be dipped in hand made glaze (food safe and dishwasher safe)

What to bring with you

• Patience and enthusiasm :)
• Having short nails will help, trimming is recommended
• Don't forget those hair-ties

This course was designed to allow the new potter to discover and practice the basic mechanics of throwing clay on the wheel. Throughout the lesson, techniques and method's will be shared and discussed and put into practice. The special thing about this class is the students will paint their pots as the wheel spins. All of our classes are relaxing, however this class is a must do if your wanting to really take a step away from the hustle and bustle and find a mellow groove. 

The vessel's created will then have a translucent glaze added to them by the teachers at a later date to make it food safe and dishwasher safe. Please note the turn around time for the pot's to be completed is around 3-4 weeks.

Our wheel throwing classes are small and designed to give the students more undivided attention towards learning the mechanics of wheel throwing. Our studio only has 6 students at a time. We will provide hand's on instructions to help guide you through every step along the way to bringing your clay to life. 

Once students have completed the intro class, students will be given a ticket and opportunity to further their passion for pottery and par-take in a 6 week intensive wheel throwing course if requested. Please see 6 week course for more information. 

Age requirements

• These classes are suitable to ages 14 + and up.
• Please note parent's will have to attend/partake in class for children 14 + and up, so don't forget to book in early.  

If you wish for your child to attend a wheel throwing class, keep your eye's peeled for our school holiday program where ages 8 and up are able to attend.
